MY BEAN IN A BOWL
|
written by Sharon K. Shubert -
illustrated by KKC Bauder
I planted a bean
When I was seven,
Under the shady pear tree.
I thought it would grow up
to the heavens,
Like Jack's jellybean seeds.

I watched and I watered,
Green sprouts did appear,
But all I got was the
bean you see here!

It's just an old bean,
Nope, not any fun,
No giants appeared,
Just a bean, just one!

I can't climb the beanstalk,
I can't look for gold,
All I have -
Is a bean
in a bowl!
The
End
