The Doll
by unknown

One day a girl was at the carnival with her parents. She saw a tent with dolls displayed. "Mom, can I have a doll?" "Sure honey, here’s five dollars. Buy a nice one!"

She ran over to the stand, but nobody was there. "Hellooo! How much for a doll?"

A raspy voice from the back of the tent said "They’re free. Just remember to lock it in the basement every night."

"Okay then." she grabbed a doll and ran back to her parents.

Later that night, she was playing with her doll and her mom called "Time for bed!"

"Coming!" she yelled and ran upstairs. She didn’t lock the doll in the basement.

She woke up in the middle of the night to a strange noise. It said "I'm on the first step. (THUMP) I'm on the second step. (THUMP) I'm on the third step. (THUMP)

The next morning her mother was missing. The next day, she played with her doll again. This time, she remembered to lock it in the basement. She woke up in the middle of the night to the strange noise again.

GET ME OUT. (THUMP) GET ME OUT. (THUMP) GET ME OUT. (CRASH) I'm on the first step. (THUMP) I'm on the second step. (THUMP) I'm on the third step. (THUMP)

The next day her father was missing. The next day, she was staying at a friends house while arrangements were made to find her parents. That night, amazingly, she woke to the same strange noise.

I'm on the first step (THUMP) I'm on the second step (THUMP) I'm on the third step (THUMP) I'm in your bedroom(THUMP) I'M GONNA GET YOU!

The next morning the girl was missing.
